Baptism Roll
BAPTISM AND CRADLE ROLL
Children of any age can be brought for baptism. You do not have to be a church member to have your child baptised. If you are interested please speak to our minister, who will be glad to visit you to explain what is involved in a baptism service.
The Cradle Roll Secretary acts as a sponsor, representing the church at a baptism service. She gives the parents a card of welcome for the child and a lighted candle as the words in the service book state, “I give you this sign for you now belong to Christ, the Light of the World”. Parents can re-light the candle on the anniversary of the baptism. The names of all the children who have been baptised are on the Cradle Roll, which can be found in the Sparklers’ Room.
The Cradle Roll Secretary has pastoral care of the children, maintaining contact with the families and visiting when possible.
THE CRECHE
If you have young children under three years of age, and would like to enjoy the service without added distractions, a creche is available. Please contact one of the stewards prior to the service, if possible.
