Wesley Club
Wesley Club meets every Monday at 7.00 pm from September to June. It is open to women of all ages - young and old and in between. There are also, occasionally open meetings for women and men.
Our secretaries give us a very varied programme, with speakers from all walks of life. Their talks may be serious, humorous, spiritual or secular. We enjoy slide shows, which take us all over the world, from the comfort of our chairs.
We also have members evenings, when we may have a quiz to exercise our brains or games such as “Call my Bluff” or “Who wants to be a Millionaire?”. We also have concerts and social evenings. Each year we have a Christmas lunch and occasional coach trips and theatre visits.
Each week we collect a 50 pence subscription. That is our only charge for members.
We also fund raise for our church. We have coffee evenings, which we ask our church members to support.
We also work closely with Network - the umbrella organisation for all women in Methodism - and support Home and Overseas Missions evenings, organised by the Mission and Education Team.
